City Council Meetings
City Council Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month. Business Sessions begin at 7:00 pm. Meeting are open to the public.
Residential Trash & Recycling Service
Curbside trash service will be mandated for all single-family homes in the City of Lovejoy. This excludes mobile homes and apartments. Curbside trash service will continue with the current approved service provider, Waste Industries. The cost of this service is $168/Year ($14/Month) and will be added to the property tax bills. (To pre-pay for this service, download the Sanitation Fee Pre-Pay form (PDF)). To have a trash can delivered, please contact Waste Industries directly.
Sanitation service includes:
- Weekly curbside trash pick-up
- Bi-weekly recycling
- Monthly Bulk Pick Up
City Property Tax
The City of Lovejoy collects property taxes separate from Clayton County.What you need to know
- City of Lovejoy property tax bills are mailed to property owners every October
- Payments are accepted in person at Lovejoy City Hall, by mail, or online.
- For property tax injury please contact Lovejoy City Hall (770) 471-2304 or complete the request form .
- The City of Lovejoy offers 2 property tax exemptions : (1) Seniors 65 and older, property owner, and must reside at the property. (2) 100 % Disabled Veterans, property owner, and must reside at the property. Property owners must complete, and have notarized the property tax exemption form.
- The City of Lovejoy does not offer the Homestead exemption
Water and Sewer
Water and Sewer service is conducted with the Clayton County Water Authority. www.CCWA.usVoting

The City of Lovejoy conducts municipal elections.

Elevate Lovejoy
The Elevate Lovejoy Outreach Program focuses on encouraging and exposing Lovejoy citizens to the opportunities within their community and beyond. The outreach program has services such as youth mentorship, a community clothing closet, Lovejoy walking club, garden activities and events, spotlight and exposure for Lovejoy business owners and entrepreneurs, adult empowerment activities, community enrichment events and regular updates on topics that are important to our citizens.visit www.elevatelovejoy.org to find out more.
