Tommy Green, III began his term in January 2008 representing Lovejoy Post 1.
Professional History
Tommy began his professional career as a teacher in Mobile, Alabama, where he worked for 6 years in all levels of K-12 schools. This led him to a career in public education advocacy, first working for the Alabama Education Association as a labor advocate, then followed by his current position as the Assistant Executive Director for the Georgia Association of Educators(GAE), the state affiliate of the National Education Association. He also previously volunteered as a mediator in the Clayton County Magistrate Court and operated a small vending business. His wife Deborah is an educator in Clayton County and they have one son, Dorian.
Educational History
Tommy is from a military family and grew up primarily in the Washington DC and Virginia areas. He is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk VA and the University of South Alabama in Mobile AL where he completed his Bachelor and Masters Degree in Education Leadership. Tommy has also served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserve.
